What's Blooming Today? Lilacs~Lily of the Valley~Chives~Creeping Phlox

And what is so rare as a day in June? Then, if ever, come perfect days; Then Heaven tries earth if it be in tune, And over it softly her warm ear lays. ~ James Russell Lowell
Welcome June!
If the crocuses are the banner of the garden parade, lilacs are the first band! These little flowers are dark pink-mauve before they
open to the palest pink. As a kid, a row of huge lilacs ran along our neighbor's yard and hung over into ours...lucky us! I remember cutting beautiful bouquets for our kitchen which I did this weekend from our own bushes. My favorite is deep purple ~ just glorious!
